Introduced students to traditional and modern concepts of drawing, including gesture, contour, value, and composition. Materials included charcoal, pen, brush, ink, and color. Conducted basic sculpture class using plaster to create 3D basic forms. Conducted digital mural workshop with Latino students from the Salinas Valley. Course focused on the fundamentals of mural design, drawing upon the studentsÕ basic computer skills, which culminated in the creation of the digital mural ÒLa Fruta del Diablo,Ó depicting the effects of crop dusting upon local farm workers. Advisor to both undergraduate and graduate students. Served on curriculum development committees for the university, and developed community contacts for student projects and internships.

I also taught an evening basic drawing course.

Taught printmaking to Native American students, including intaglio, lithography, relief, and silkscreen process. Introduced students to multi-colored printing, mixed media techniques, and large-scale print projects. Responsible for upgrading the printmaking department and the recruitment of students from surrounding reservations.

Developed an after school program for girls that is now a cultural institution within the Latino community of the Mission District in San Francisco. Conducted workshops and seminars for the girls and their parents, recruitment for the after school program, through radio and television presentations. Provided ongoing administrative functions, such as community fundraising and grant writing.
